Change is good. We are ever evolving in our thoughts, our actions, and our choices. But we know that sometimes it can be hard to maintain the changes we desire to make most! Have you been faithful to the goals you set for yourself during this program? If not, you might want to change it up a bit.
- First, revisit your WHY? If you didn’t fill out the questionnaire on page 7 of the Healthy Living Guide, take some time to do that now. If you filled it out in the beginning, review it. Is your Why the same?
- How has your physical activity been working for you? If you haven’t been as active as you need to be, ask yourself why. Is what you have been doing boring? Is it too hard? You may want to choose a different exercise. Keep in mind that when we are moving, we are getting our heart rate up and helping our body to naturally remove toxins!
- Are you enjoying your food?! Choose some new recipes that you haven’t tried that sound exciting to you and make them! Try some new combinations of shakes or smoothies.
- Are you speaking kindly to yourself? If you aren’t being kind, we can adjust our attitude or we adjust what we are doing. And sometimes it requires both! It’s so, so important to have positive self-talk! Yes, I can! Yes, I can! Yes, I can!
One thing many of us like to do is imagine ourselves in our new healthy body. What does it look like? What kind of clothing are you wearing? What types of activities are you doing now that you’re healthy?
One client said that her why was to be able to go bike riding with her husband. She wanted to have better strength, endurance, and balance. Every time she started getting discouraged she thought of how fun it was going to be to go on long bike rides with her husband and how great she would feel. That helped her keep on track.
