10-Day DAY TWO

Most people think coffee will be the hardest thing to eliminate during the 10 days, but many people it’s actually the SUGAR. Our society has gradually gotten completely addicted to this substance, and some say it’s as difficult to detox from as heroine! It will blow your MIND how much sugar is hidden in our processed foods! Even the things we don’t consider as being “treats”! Instead of completely eliminating it (which actually is impossible to do – it’s even in our fruits and veggies – AND we do need some sugar as an energy source) we are GREATLY REDUCING it during the 10 day program. You will be getting small amounts of natural sugar in your shakes comparable to a small size green apple)and minimally in the fizz. There is SOME sugar in the veggies you’ll eat, the fruit (sticking to green apples and berries only) and of course our carbs do become a sugar source for us (which is part of why we keep them as a lower plate portion).

TIP: If cutting sugar is a tough one for you like it was for me watch “THAT SUGAR FILM” (yes, that is what it is called). It is now available on Netflix! I cannot recommend this film enough. It will make cutting out sugar that much easier for you. Give yourself a little task today and start calculating how much sugar you are REALLY getting. If you’re unsure google it. You’ll be amazed where are sugars are hiding in your food.

Craving a little something sweet. Make these up and keep them in your freezer for a quick grab. Melt 1/4 cup coconut oil and add approximately 2 scoops of Arbonne chocolate protein powder. Mix. It should be the consistency of brownie batter. Spoon into small cups and freeze for 30 – 45 minutes. Pop out and store in freezer bag.

Eggnog protein shake!

2 scoops Vanilla Arbonne protein powder
Vanilla or not unsweetened almond milk (1/2 cup or more to taste)
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp rum extract
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp clove
1/2 tsp cinnamon
